The First Ninety Days by Chris Ferris, Executive Director
Happy New Year to all our Latin America Mission supporters! I am excited for the year of Ministry ahead of us as we work together to build God’s Kingdom. The first ninety days in my new role as Executive Director has been mostly a time of learning. This organization has a rich history of evangelism and church planting that goes back over 100 years! We are offering many different types of ministries in many different countries. From our outreach to indigenous peoples, to our care of children, to our pastoral care for prisoners and recovering addicts, you can read more about our impact in our 2024 Annual Report.
Another area of focus over my first ninety days has been connecting with many of you to create new relationships and strengthen existing ones. We hosted our Annual General Meeting at the end of November where we came together (in person and online) to celebrate all that God has done through us over the past year.
We will continue to strengthen the prayer life of our organization through a new initiative of meeting online every Monday, beginning our week in community together and with God. If you have prayer requests or would like additional information on how to join us for these prayer meetings, please email prayer@lamcanada.ca
With the support of our staff team, Board members, and volunteers, I will be preparing a new strategic plan and fundraising plan in 2025. We pray these tools will bring glory to God’s name as we work to expand His Kingdom and bring the gift of salvation to many more people.
I hope you enjoy reading this month’s message from David Phillips, our Operations Director, about integrity in leadership as well as Dione Santos Lima’s update about her ministry efforts in Brazil. Please consider forwarding this newsletter to someone from your church leadership or someone else who would be interested in partnering with us to bring the life-changing gift of salvation across Latin America.
In His Service,
Chris Ferris
