Don Dolton

Don is originally from Stratford, Ontario. As he approached retirement, he felt a strong conviction that these years should be spent using his artistic talents and his passion for sharing the Gospel. This calling led him to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico, where for the past four years he has been teaching art at Manantial Christian School.

At the school, Don teaches elementary students in grades 1 through 6, using art as a tool to explore the Biblical narrative and its context. He also teaches Technical Drawing to 12th-grade students. On Saturdays, Don leads an art club for both children and interested adults—a space where he not only teaches art but also builds relationships and shares the Gospel.

As a senior member of the teaching staff, Don is also in a unique position to informally mentor the newly graduated teachers.

His ongoing hope and prayer is that the students who do not yet believe will hear the Gospel, come to understand it, and place their trust in its life-giving truth.
