Women’s Ministries in Colombia

By Helen Bravo

In the second half of this year, Helen Bravo took on the coordination of the New Life Store project, a social impact initiative focused on mobilizing local churches and schools to engage with social issues, create economic opportunities for migrant women, and promote responsible stewardship of natural resources. Unlike traditional clothing donation campaigns or thrift shops, the NLS project embraces a receptive and transformational approach, empowering vulnerable women by equipping them with skills and competencies to overcome challenges and build a sustainable future.

Local churches play an integral role as partners in this initiative, and we are seeing real impact. Vulnerable women, including migrants and single mothers, as well as several families, have experienced increased income through their participation in the program. We are grateful to God for the involvement of a good group of women in this journey so far.

This new phase as now started with women from various parts of Barranquilla-each with different needs, but all sharing the same determination to move forward. Every month, we come together to share knowledge, pray, and handpick clothes that supports their entrepreneurial initiatives.

1 Minute to Pray: Please keep the New Life Store (NLS) women and their families in your prayers. We are meeting monthly, and our clothing donations have been low. Please pray for a miracle so we can gather enough pieces for the women to take back to their communities and generate income. Also, pray for more local churches, schools, and individuals to commit to donating regularly to the NLS project, and for more volunteers to join us in this important work. Please pray for all the women that are part of the project and their personal battles and challenges that they are facing.
