One year ago, the LAM Board was saddened to receive a letter from Hannah Francois. She had been the secretary of the Board, doing an excellent job in correspondence, keeping the minutes, and sharing her wisdom. She told us that her husband, Dwayne, had been diagnosed with fast-acting cancer. Unfortunately, Dwayne passed away, leaving Hannah to raise her children. Additionally, Hannah had other family members going through extremely challenging situations.
Recently, we received this significant letter from Hannah. In it, she reaffirms her support of the Latin America Mission. She describes her love for the people being served across many nations.
Good morning, David. LAM has been on my mind lately, and conveniently, I revived the newsletter (March Newsletter) this morning.
In a couple of days, it will be one year since we found out that Dwayne had cancer. This year has been full of many discouraging and challenging times, but God’s grace has also been sufficient for us and blessed us in many ways.
Thank you to you and the Board for how they prayed and cared for me during that time. It meant a lot to have so many people praying for us as we faced many uncertainties. The Christian world, in so many ways, is like one big community.
People who don’t even know us came together to pray. God heard our prayers. God has a plan. He knew that his plan was not going to be easy for us, so he made sure that our family was surrounded by others who would care for us in Dwayne’s absence.
Thank you all for everything. The LAM community will always have a particular spot in my heart.
