The LAM Prayer Guide.

This month, pray for eighteen ministries in seven countries.

  • Pray for Santi Benavides and the team who recently flew from Toronto to Port Hope, Ontario. Pray for the indigenous First Nation youth who were deeply impacted by the music skills that were shared and the deep fellowship with caring Christians.

  • Pray for Daniel and Helen Bravo as they minister to hundreds of Venezuelan refugees. Each person they meet carries the deep burden of loss and unanswered questions about the future.

  • Pray for Fundación Doulos (Servanthood Foundation). The purpose of this ministry through scores of churches in northern Colombia is to develop holistic ministries that will transform entire communities. Hundreds of local leaders are involved in this movement.

  • Pray for Joe and Marg Nesci in Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering, Ontario. Their summer ministry of outreach to Central American migrant workers has already begun. Activities include Bar-B-Ques, soccer competitions bringing workers together, and listening to Gospel messages.

  • Pray for Nehemias and Noemi Guillen, our newly appointed missionaries in Canada, reaching out to migrant workers from Central America. They have a wonderful way of communicating the Gospel through songs; guitar music resonates deeply with Central Americans!

  • Pray for Santi and Diana Benavides as they wait for their final papers from Immigration Canada. Santi is almost finished recording a record album; Diana is recovering from an injury to her foot. June marks the end of the school year for Maria José and Santiago, their children.

  • Pray for Sue Vissers, who is concluding her master’s degree in counselling on Life Work Balance among Latin missionaries. Her thesis is due by June 30, in just a few days!

  • Pray for Two Brazilian Indigenous women in Alta Floresta. Both are extremely ill. They listen to church services from their bed while waiting for the Lord to call them home. Dione Santos has done discipleship studies with them. Dione is completing 31 years of mission work there!

  • Pray for Natalia Martinez, who loves the girls who come into the El Nido program in Colombia as each one awaits the birth of their child. Pray for financial support for Natalia.

  • Pray for David and Marilyn Longworth in Costa Rica. In their retirement, both are ill. Their daughter Lily has recently had two surgeries to correct a hearing issue and two additional surgeries to correct complications related to those surgeries, the most recent being to address an infection in her brain. Pray for financial support to help David and Marilyn through this recent time of increasing difficulty.

  • Pray for Chris Fiorito in Carlisle, Ontario. Following her effective service in Guatemala, Chris developed a ministry of encouragement to LAM staff. She is a prayer warrior and gives resources to younger missionaries. Pray that she will have the right words each day.

  • Pray for Rommel and Ana Julia in Granada, Nicaragua. Government regulations continue to tighten, making life more complicated for Roman Catholic churches and priests. Any organization making even a small error is subject to inspection and even being closed. Ana Julia will soon complete her university studies. Milady, their daughter is in Grade 6.

  • Pray for Marcello and Guilliana Viana and their new church plant in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This summer, they will lead many forms of creative outreach.

  • Pray for Benjamin and Isabel Martinez in their preparations for the next year of teaching in the Walpa Yamni Bible School. Puerto Lempira, on the eastern coast of Honduras is a remote, neglected, impoverished area. This family works under incredibly difficult circumstances.

  • Pray for Ken Vissers and IAWAH CAMP as a new program training six Canadian youth and six Colombian youth in Northern Colombia. This program envisions equipping a generation of caring, qualified leaders who will impact their culture in the following years.

  • Pray for John and Tracey Peters who are in the States this summer. Pray for rest, refreshment and good ministry opportunities as they think through when it would be best to return to their church planting ministry in Mexico City.

  • Pray for Florentina Diego Carceda as she plans her upcoming evangelistic trip to four linguistic groups of indigenous peoples in Mexico. Roads far away from Acapulco are rough and dangerous, but people in the mountainous areas are incredibly hospitable.

  • Pray for the program Grant Advance as we hope to match donors with credible projects our missionaries will oversee.

  • And finally, pray for our need for LAM Board Members and a permanent Executive Director. We trust the Lord will provide the mission’s leadership and our financial needs for the coming years.
