Dan was born and raised in Brazil to Canadian missionary parents. At an early age, he gave his life to the Lord and started pursuing God´s will to become a missionary pilot. After completing Bible College and his aviation license requirements he served as a missionary pilot/mechanic in Brazil for over 14 years and served as a flight instructor in Canada for 6 years. For years Dan felt God was leading him to establish “Wings of Love”, an aviation ministry. Dan’s aviation training in the Amazon region along with his knowledge of the Brazilian culture and language were key pieces in setting up the ministry. Marcia was also born and raised in Brazil and is a physiotherapist. Dan and Marcia have 5 adult sons living in Canada.

The goal of “Wings of Love” is to assist the local church and mission agencies by providing reliable and affordable air transportation in the Brazilian Amazon region. By assisting with transportation, the church members and missionaries can then help meet the spiritual, social, and physical needs of the people living in remote areas.

Dan expressed, “We face ongoing challenges with regards to finding qualified Christian Brazilian pilots to serve and the high operating and maintenance costs. However, we believe that that the Wings of Love aviation ministry is not just a means of air transportation, but a tool to take God’s hope, love, and salvation to the most remote places in the Brazilian Amazonian region."

Currently, Dan administers the ministry from Canada and conducts mission trips in the Amazon region. He also mentors Brazilian pilots as they work through the many phases of aviation training and assists in overlooking his parent's print ministry in Brazil.
