Jacob and Leidy live and work in Armenia, Quindio Colombia with their son Oliver. Jacob is a Colombian at heart, but a Canadian by birth who came to Armenia in 2009 to work with ZonaJ. He met Leidy in 2011 and they married 2 years later. They are involved in various projects at the ZonaJ foundation including a food bank and El Nido (a local crisis teen pregnancy centre), which they founded in 2016. They recently planted a church (Reunion Colombia) where Jacob serves as an associate pastor. Leidy is the executive director at El Nido, which runs a program for teen girls twice a week. The program runs for 2 years and focuses on forming a bond between mother and child as well as offering counselling and economic help. The focus of El Nido (which means the nest) is to develop a safe haven for these girls that come from various situations of abuse, neglect, insecurity, and hopelessness. The women running the program are encouraged to form bonds with each girl in order to know how to help them best.

It is their hope that God will use them to love and be given the wisdom to help and encourage others.

Finding funding and running these projects is busy and comes with many struggles, but God is faithful and has shown his faithfulness time and time again. Their hope is that these projects will grow and impact the city more and more for God’s Kingdom here on this earth. Leidy is an amazing dancer...Jacob is not, but they love each other and love what they do.
